Half the world is burning in terrible fires

Due to the adverse effects of climate change, the earth's atmosphere is heating up like a factory boiler chamber day by day.  For two consecutive weeks, more than half of the world is burning with intense fires, fires and drought.  From the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean, the animal world is endangered by the abnormally unbearably warm behavior of the weather.  It has had an adverse effect in Bangladesh as well.  The temperature in Bangladesh was 6 degrees Celsius higher than normal in the last two days.  Analyzing the weather data from 1948 to 2022, the highest temperature in the current month of July in the history of 70-74 years is 40 degrees Celsius.

According to the report of the news agency Reuters, intense heat and fires have spread across Europe.  Europe is burning, fires have spread across the Mediterranean to Morocco.  More than 360 people have died in Europe in the last one week due to intense wildfires.  According to the world's meteorological agencies, more than half of the world is now experiencing severe fires.  From Europe to China, Middle East, Iran, India, Pakistan and Central Asia, the maximum temperature is fluctuating between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius.

The United States space research agency "NASA" has released a map of heat wave in different countries of the world on July 15.  It showed that the temperature of the city of Seville in Spain rose to 42.2 degrees Celsius;  The temperature of Ahvaz city in Iran has risen to 46.5 degrees Celsius and the temperature of Shanghai city in China has risen to 37.6 degrees Celsius.  And most major cities in the Middle East saw maximum temperatures between 45 and 50 degrees Celsius.

The government has declared a national emergency in Britain due to intense heat.  This is the first time a national emergency has been declared in Britain due to rising temperatures.  The decision was taken after temperatures were forecast to reach 40 degrees Celsius.  On the other hand, high winds and extremely dry weather have threatened lives in several European countries as wildfires spread.  Many local residents of France have been forced to leave various towns and villages.  More than 10,000 people have been forced to leave the Jihind region in southwestern France in the past few days.  The fires in several places in France, Portugal and Spain cannot be brought under control.  The temperature has soared above 40 degrees Celsius.  The heat wave has killed at least 281 people in Portugal and Spain.  Several towns in western Spain have been evacuated.  Unusually high temperatures in Spain

reached up to 45.7 degrees Celsius.  Temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in large parts of Portugal.  Pinhao in the north recorded 47 degrees Celsius.  This is the highest heat record for July in mainland Portugal.

However, weather forecasters in Spain say temperatures will start to drop.  And France's Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature of 41 degrees was recorded in some areas of the southern part of the country on Sunday.  France's meteorological department issued warnings in 22 regions last Saturday.  A resident of the south-western part of France told AFP that he had never seen the intensity of wildfires like this year in the past.  The Italian government has also declared a state of emergency in several regions.  Firefighters are working to control the fire that has spread 50 kilometers southeast of Athens, the capital of Greece.  Local residents have been evacuated to safe shelters.  The situation is the same in northern Morocco.  Fires are spreading rapidly in many provinces there.  A local village was completely burnt.  And one person died in the fire.

According to CNN, several cities including Shanghai, Nanjing, and Zhejiang in the eastern part of China are under fire.  Yesterday, the temperature in the commercial city of Shanghai was 40 degrees Celsius.  Meteorologists say this is the highest temperature in the city since 1873.  Some people died in the extreme heat.  On the other hand, according to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in most cities of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh was above 46 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, according to BBC news, East Africa has been suffering from severe heat and drought in the past few years.  This drought started last year and is still going on.  Even after four seasons there is no rain.  About two crore people in this region are suffering from extreme hunger.  Scientists say that the spring rains associated with the Indian Ocean currents are falling into the sea before they reach the region, due to which it does not rain in land areas.  Italy has declared a state of emergency in five regions along the Po River in the north of the country due to drought.  It is said that this is the country's worst drought in the last 70 years.  Meanwhile, the abnormal behavior of the weather in most of the seas of the world has started severe fires in its neighboring areas.  Its influence is also increasing in Bangladesh.  There are no clouds in the sky.  Drought is going on in full hearing.  People affected by rain and drought.  City life sizzles in the hot sun.  Life is stopping due to the intensity of the sun.  It's like the accompaniment of Baisakhi in the monsoon sky.  The environment becomes gloomy, it is very hot even at night.  In such a situation public life has become miserable.

Meteorologist Abdul Mannan said that three to four heat waves occur every year.  However, this July's heat wave is long-lasting and very strong.  Its impact is across the country.  Although it is monsoon season in nature, the cumulus cloud axis in the sky is currently located in West Bengal along the Orissa coast of India.  Because of this, there is no rain in Bangladesh.  He said that torrential rain is possible only if this axis flows over Bangladesh.  He said, it will take another 2-3 days for rain.  Although it is already raining in Sylhet, it is local rain.  Abdul Mannan said that the heatwave has been going on since July 5, the frequency of rain is less, the amount of water vapor in the air is high, the sky is cloudless and the sun is shining brightly.  All in all, the situation is unbearable.  May have to wait till July 20-21 for rain.  The heat will not decrease without heavy rain.  It is also not sure whether there will be heavy rain after two days.

He said, this year's heat is very intense and strong compared to some years.  Heavy rains will relieve this intense heat.  Mostafa Kamal Palash, a researcher at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, told Ittefaq that there is no way to get rid of such hot conditions for now.  Such heatwaves usually do not occur in July.  This year is an exception.  Heat waves are usually seen in April-May, that is normal.  This expert said that there will be rain in Rangpur and Sylhet divisions on July 19.  However, the amount of rain will be less in Rajshahi division.  After July 23, the temperature may rise again.

According to a report of the Daily Independent, the countries of Europe are burning due to intense fires and fires caused by North Africa.  Heat waves around the world have become more frequent, more intense and longer lasting due to human-made climate change.  The average temperature of Puthivi has already increased by about 1.1 degrees Celsius since the beginning of the industrial age.  Greenhouse gas emissions are responsible for global warming.  If it is not reduced quickly, the temperature will continue to rise.
