Since this month, Ukraine has exported food crops as before the start of the Russian invasion. This is a major victory for international efforts to end the food crisis. US officials said this on Tuesday. In a report, this information was given by the news agency AFP.
Ukraine was well known for exporting products such as wheat, corn, barley and sunflower oil. Before the start of the war, the country was exporting about 5 million tons of food grains every month.
After the start of the invasion of Ukraine on February 24, their food grain exports are facing complications. As a result, global food prices have increased significantly. In this, especially the poor countries of the world are facing extreme difficulties.
A senior US State Department official told AFP that Ukraine exported 4 million tons of agricultural products in August as it resumed exports thanks to strong international cooperation.
Ukraine and Russia reached the first wartime agreement in July, brokered by Turkey and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Under this agreement, shipping from Ukraine's Black Sea ports is guaranteed.
The official of the US Department of State said, as a result, it is possible to export more than 720,000 tons of food grains by 33 ships from various ports of the country in the last few weeks.
