A strong earthquake hit the southeastern coast of Taiwan on Sunday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported in a report on Sunday.
A tsunami warning was issued in neighboring Japan after the earthquake. At least one building in a small town was immediately reported to have collapsed in the quake.
The USGS said the quake was felt in the coastal city of Taitung at 2:44 p.m. local time. Its depth was 10 km below the surface. Earlier, a strong earthquake of magnitude 6.6 struck there at 9:30 p.m. local time on Saturday.
On the other hand, the catastrophic Cyclone Nanmadol is heading towards Japan. This super typhoon may hit on Sunday night.
To save from this terrible flood, Japan's disaster management department has evacuated two million people from Kagashima, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and southern Kyosho to safe shelters.
Japan's National Meteorological Agency described the typhoon as 'catastrophic' and urged people along the southern coast to evacuate.
