As part of this festival, Argentina fans in Sunamganj staged a showdown with a fleet of motorcycles to show their strength and prowess.
On Wednesday late afternoon, they went around the whole city chanting different slogans from Sunamganj's heritage museum premises. On the occasion of the showdown, hundreds of motorcycles appeared in the museum premises one by one from 3 pm.
They expressed their excitement with the flag of Argentina on the jersey. Argentinian supporters also waved their hands to the rhythm of Bhu Bhu flutes and motorcycle horns. The showdown ended at Hussain Bakht Square.
Journalists who support Argentina Fawad Moni and Mizanur Rahman said that this arrangement is to inform how many supporters of Argentina football team there are in Sunamganj and to pray for them from the heart. At the end of the showdown, watching the game on the big screen, when Argentina scored two goals against Poland, they danced late into the night and cheered.
Meanwhile, the news of Argentine supporters cheering in all the upazilas including Jamalganj, Tahirpur, Dharmapasha, Madhdhyanagar, Dirai, Shalla and even in the villages of Haor area has spread on Facebook and Twitter through social media.
Saiful Abul Ulaya, a supporter of the Argentina team in Jamalganj, said, "In the World Cup football tournament, Brazil mainly supports Argentina in Bangladesh. I love the craftsmanship and artistry of the Argentinian game. I support Argentina after seeing the quality of their game.
He also said, "Argentina is the country of football wizard Maradona." They play with modernity, that's why we love Argentina, love Maradona, Messi, Di Maria.
